About ABC

At the core of the biggest questions in life is human meaning, with our hearts and minds longing for a true understanding of purpose. We can seek to create and live out our own meaning for life, but only God’s purpose will satisfy the deep longing of our hearts.

All of humanity is broken, and Jesus comes to heal the lost and broken-hearted (Ezekiel 34:16). Our calling is proclaiming the Lord’s word as a double-edged sword, a word that comforts the challenged, and challenges the comfortable. As a community of disciples, we seek to be honest about our own brokenness and healing as we grow in relationship with Jesus and those around us.

Meet our Pastor

Timothy Van Aarde

Originally from South Africa, myself and my family felt called to move to Western Australia in 2018. After feeling that God was calling us away from the Pastor position at Collie Baptist, in 2022 I had approached a church in Perth that shared our same values of scriptural truth. We had met on several occasions, and I had prayed that if it was not God’s will, He would open another door in the week before we were to give our final response. Pastor Richard Foster from Australind Baptist Church then invited me to coffee in the same week, and shared with me his intention to retire. I asked the Lord if this was what He intended, and I had His peace and confidence.

He was leading my wife Jeanette and I, with our three children; Isabel, Michael and Elizabeth, to love and serve the Lord at ABC.

At ABC, we feel called to be missional in our faith, going out into the nations, sharing and proclaiming the love of Christ to all who are weary and burdened, and seeking the hope and peace that only Jesus brings.

“Our mission is to be a community of disciples who make disciples (Matthew 28:19). We seek to serve as a missional church, intentional in reaching out with the hope and truth of the gospel to the community God has placed us in.”

“It is our desire that all those who are led to ABC will be supported in seeking and drawing closer to the Truth (John 14:6).
